Campus name to honor outgoing president

Palm Beach State College’s new campus in Loxahatchee Groves will be named after outgoing president Dennis P. Gallon.
The College’s District Board of Trustees recently passed a unanimous resolution naming the campus for Dr. Gallon in recognition of his outstanding service to the College and the community. Palm Beach State College trustees select first female president

The Palm Beach State College District Board of Trustees culminated a six-month national search process Wednesday, unanimously choosing Ava L. Parker, J.D., to become the first female president of Palm Beach State College.

Groundbreaking ceremony held for PBSC Loxahatchee Groves campus

Palm Beach State College held a groundbreaking ceremony today for its long-planned Loxahatchee Groves campus that will provide more convenient access to classes for residents in the county’s growing west central communities.
More than 100 people, including local and state elected officials and community and business leaders, attended the ceremony under a tent on the 75-acre campus site at the northwest corner of Southern Boulevard and B Road. PBSC President Dennis Gallon to retire in June 2015

Dr. Dennis P. Gallon, president of Palm Beach State College since 1997, informed the District Board of Trustees today of his desire to retire from that post effective June 30, 2015. The board accepted the decision, expressing sadness but praising his distinguished service and wishing him well.
“President Gallon has been a pillar of the College and the community for the past 17 years,” said Carolyn L. Williams, board chairperson. “We celebrate his remarkable career, and we cannot adequately express our appreciation for his service to our students and to Palm Beach County.”
