Tunjarnika Coleman-Ferrell, Ed.D., vice president of academic affairs at Palm Beach State College, has been named the 2022 Woman of the Year by the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce.
The award was announced at the Woman of the Year Luncheon, sponsored by Nova Southeastern University and The Markarian Group, on Oct. 28 at the Wyndham Grand Jupiter. Longtime former Workforce Dean Pat Richie passes away

Patricia V. Richie, Palm Beach State College’s former longtime dean of Business, Trades and Public Safety programs, passed away unexpectedly Aug. 24, her family has announced.

PBSC to offer business certificate in Riviera Beach

Palm Beach State College will begin offering the courses for its Business Specialist College Credit Certificate at the Riviera Beach Public Works Center in January as part of a new initiative to enhance access to short-term educational training for the city’s residents.
Leaders from PBSC and the city recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding sealing the partnership. Coleman-Ferrell sworn in as AFC president

Dr. Tunjarnika Coleman-Ferrell, dean of academic affairs at Palm Beach State College in Boca Raton, will officially step into her new role as president of the Association of Florida Colleges Jan. 1.
Coleman-Ferrell took the oath of office during AFC’s Annual Meeting and Conference Nov. 1-3 in Palm Harbor, Fla. She is only the fourth College employee to lead the more than 7,000-member organization since its establishment in 1949.

PBSC staff win awards, leadership roles at AFC conference

Palm Beach State College staff and faculty brought home several awards from the Association of Florida Colleges 67th Annual Meeting and Conference for exemplary use of classroom technology, excellence in communications and marketing and outstanding service.
The awards were presented throughout the conference in Lake Buena Vista Nov. 2-4 that drew 400 attendees, including representatives from each Florida College System institution.
