PBSC psychology students win Psi Beta Emerging Researcher Award

Two Palm Beach State College students received an Emerging Researcher Award from Psi Beta, a national honor society in psychology, and now their research article has been chosen for publication this fall in the inaugural edition of a peer–reviewed journal.

Craig Tomlin and Rivkah Estrin were among only four  selected nationwide for the newly created award open to community college students. Presenting a research paper is a daunting task for Ph.D.’s, let alone undergraduate students, but Etiane Navarro and Renato De La Rosa met the challenge when they attended the American Psychological Association’s annual convention Aug. 8-11 in Chicago.

When more than 10,000 psychologists and students gather at the 126th annual American Psychological Association convention in San Francisco on August 9, Jose Martinez will represent Palm Beach State College with distinction.

PBSC professors honored for innovative course projects

Palm Beach State College presented its annual Stewart Distinguished Teaching Award to two professors Friday for their innovative course projects that keep students highly engaged.
