Two PBSC students win Cooke Foundation scholarship

Two Palm Beach State College honors students are among only 55 selected nationwide for the prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship.
Marshelle Davis, an aspiring certified public accountant who’s on track to graduate in May with an Associate in Arts degree, and Tanzina Chowdhury, who earned her A.A. last December and is enrolled in additional prerequisite courses this term, each will receive up to $40,000 per year for up to three years toward the educational expenses to complete their bachelor’s degree. … Continue reading Two PBSC students win Cooke Foundation scholarship →

Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, an American Book Award recipient and two-time NAACP Image Award winner, was the keynote speaker at the Palm Beach State College 18th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Thursday, telling the crowd that “Dr. King’s legacy is so significant that we should all engage in it.”

Dyson to speak at PBSC King celebration Jan. 12

Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, an American Book Award recipient and two-time NAACP Image Award winner, will be the keynote speaker at the Palm Beach State College 18th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Jan. 12.
The event will be held at 11 a.m. at the Duncan Theatre on the Lake Worth campus, 4200 Congress Ave. It is free and open to the public, but attendees are asked to RSVP.
