A Lunch & Learn workshop titled “Stop the Stigma” was held at Palm Beach State College to help educate faculty, staff and students about suicide prevention.

PBSC unveils suicide prevention bench in Belle Glade

Palm Beach State College’s Belle Glade campus held a ribbon cutting ceremony Oct. 26 to unveil a suicide prevention and awareness bench on campus. The bench, located on the patio entrance of CRA (Classrooms A) building, is the second to be placed on a PBSC campus.
Those in attendance included South Bay Commissioner Dr. Esther Berry and Lisa Wilson, aide to Palm Beach County District 6 Commissioner Melissa McKinlay.

Palm Beach State students stand up to suicide

Palm Beach State College students held a Stand Up to Suicide demonstration today to raise awareness of suicide and to encourage their peers struggling with depression and mental illness to seek help.
The Psychology & Human Services Club co-sponsored the event with the PBSC College-Wide Counseling Center, Walgreens and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
