Lake Worth campus open for special winter break hours

The Palm Beach State College Lake Worth campus will be open for special hours on three days during the two-week winter break to help students from all campuses register and prepare for their spring classes.

McNeal and Joyner to lead Belle Glade and Lox campuses

Palm Beach State College has hired new executive deans for its Belle Glade and Loxahatchee Groves campuses.
Dr. LaTanya McNeal will serve in the position on the Belle Glade campus and Dr. Stephen Joyner at Loxahatchee Groves. Since 2015, McNeal has served as the assistant dean of student services at the Belle Glade campus. Joyner was previously a higher education enrollment consultant and dean of student services at Miami Dade College.

Williams named Lake Worth campus student services dean

Palm Beach State College’s national search for a new dean of student services for the Lake Worth campus ended internally with the appointment of Van Williams, who served as an assistant dean for the last three years.
The Army veteran with 18 years of higher education experience was chosen from four finalists for the position that drew 283 applicants. He replaced Penny McIsaac, who retired in January after 18 years in the role.

Remembering a beloved educator, mentor, friend

Almost 200 students, faculty and staff members came together Feb. 5 for a candlelight vigil to honor the memory of Dacota Stewart-Dick, Palm Beach State College’s First-Year Experience manager. Stewart-Dick was killed Feb. 2 in her Parkland home.

Candlelight vigil to honor slain College employee

The murder of Palm Beach State College staff member Dacota Stewart-Dick in her Parkland home Sunday has sent shock waves through the College community, as employees and students struggle to cope with the tragedy.
A candlelight vigil will be held at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, for students, faculty and staff to honor the memory of Stewart-Dick, PBSC First-Year Experience program manager.  The vigil will take place in the MLK Plaza, Lake Worth campus.  Grief counselors also have been made available through the College Counseling Center and the Employee Assistance Program to support co-workers and students as needed. … Continue reading Candlelight vigil to honor slain College employee
