The Palm Beach State College Foundation has received $7,000 from the former Boca Raton-based Networking Hispanos group to establish a scholarship in the organization’s name.
“We are passionate about supporting students in their academic goals and wanted to create a legacy at Palm Beach State,” said Emma del Real, founder of Networking Hispanos. “We believe that the funds will go far at the college, where students have so many opportunities to explore different career paths.”

The Palm Beach State College Foundation has received $25,000 from the Rotary Club of Boca Raton for student scholarships.
“We are very passionate about supporting students in their academic goals,” said Spencer Siegel, president of the club. “We not only desire to help them financially but we also guide them through our mentorship program. These students are smart and very motivated and oftentimes have very little guidance as to what to do in life. We believe even the smallest push in the right direction from someone who is not their mom or dad can mean the world in terms of their success in life.”

The Palm Beach State College Foundation raised $136,000 for student scholarships from its recent annual Golf Classic. The event drew 140 players, the highest number to date.
The tournament, the Foundation’s premier fundraising event, benefits the Foundation’s STEAM initiative to impact the projected shortage of local, skilled professionals in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) fields.

Balfour Beatty Construction, the fifth largest general builder in the nation and one of Florida’s largest construction managers, raised $33,500 at their 20th annual golf benefit held March 10 at the Grand Oaks Golf Club in Davie, Fla.
