Veterans breakfast offers up nourishment and thanks

About 20 veterans gathered for breakfast this morning, and along with the eggs, pastries and coffee, were served a huge helping of thanks for their service.
Sponsored by Palm Beach State College’s Student Government Association, the breakfast was held in the Public Safety Conference Center on the Lake Worth campus. It gave the veterans—who came from PBSC as well as the community—an opportunity to enjoy a meal together and express themselves.

SGA to help promote safe driving

The Student Government Association (SGA) at Palm Beach State College is joining the efforts to help students keep their eyes on the road while driving.
The College’s SGA at Lake Worth is co-partnering with AT&T to bring the company’s “It Can Wait” campaign and Pledge Drive to campus.

Palm Beach State College to hold two commencement ceremonies Dec. 19

Palm Beach State College will hold two commencement ceremonies Dec. 19 to celebrate the 2,675 fall graduates of its degree and certificate programs.
The first ceremony will be at 9:30 a.m. at the Palm Beach County Convention Center for the 1,482 students completing the Associate in Arts transfer degree. PBSC student government members advocate in Tallahassee, several elected as state leaders

More than 30 Palm Beach State College students from the Palm Beach Gardens, Lake Worth and Belle Glade campuses traveled to Tallahassee April 2-4 for the Florida College System Student Government Association final conference for the 2013-14 academic year.

Third annual faculty/staff vs. student basketball game Feb. 20

Palm Beach State College’s Student Government Association on the Lake Worth campus will host its 3rd annual faculty/staff vs. student basketball game at 7 p.m. Feb. 20 in the Elisabeth Erling Gymnasium. Those interested in participating may sign up in the Student Activities Center (BK 107).
