STEAM Fest to return after successful first year

STEAM Fest, which drew more than 800 attendees during its successful first year, is returning Nov. 16 and promises to be even better.
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Natural Science building on the Lake Worth campus and features new displays, as well as indoor and outdoor interactive science demonstrations, food, activities and more.

PBSC helps open STEAM labs at elementary schools

Two new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) learning labs were unveiled today at elementary schools in Broward and Palm Beach counties with the help of Palm Beach State’s Institute of Excellence in Early Care and Education.
The first lab opened at Village Academy Elementary School in Delray Beach and the second at the Lauderdale Manors Early Learning Center in Fort Lauderdale.

PBSC alumnus and wife donate $30,000 to STEAM initiative

Palm Beach State College alumnus Dr. Robert D. Matteson and his wife, Nancy, have donated $30,000 to the PBSC Foundation’s STEAM initiative to establish an endowed scholarship.
The scholarship is available to students majoring in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programs. To be eligible, students must have financial need, be enrolled in nine or more credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

STEAM initiative receives $100,000 donation

The Palm Beach State College Foundation received a $100,000 donation from the Meyer and Bernice Kesner Foundation to support the College’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) initiative.
The Meyer and Bernice Kesner Foundation scholarship, which was given in honor of the late Palm Beach Gardens couple, will be a five-year scholarship open to students pursuing STEM careers.
