PBSC students played a leading role in the Decision 2022: Before You Vote U.S. Senate debate between incumbent U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio and U.S. Rep. Val Demings, hosted by Palm Beach State College at the Duncan Theatre on the Lake Worth campus.
In the days leading up to the Oct. 18 debate and at the debate itself, students participated in class discussions and volunteered at the event. Role models in civil discourse may be hard to find these days, but nearly 40 Palm Beach State College students have found theirs by going to court.
PBSC became the first college in the country Wednesday to host Civil Discourse and Decisions, a national initiative of the federal courts that gives high school and college students a courtroom experience of practicing civil discourse and decision-making skills that they can use in their lives.
