Panthers named Division II Gulf District Tournament runner-up

Palm Beach State College’s volleyball team was named the FCSAA/NJCAA Division II Gulf District Tournament runner-up Nov. 5 after being defeated by Gulf Coast State College in the Gulf District Championship game. They end the season 13-7.
During the tournament, which began Friday, Nov. 4, the Panthers first played South Florida State College. That victory advanced them to the Gulf District Tournament Semi Finals vs. Pensacola State College.

PBSC alum now a Milwaukee Brewers major league player

Palm Beach State College baseball alumnus Peter Strzelecki is now a Milwaukee Brewers Major League Baseball player.
Strzelecki pitched for PBSC during the 2014 and 2015 seasons and graduated with an Associate in Arts degree in 2015.

1978 men’s championship basketball team to be honored

The 1978 men’s basketball team that led then Palm Beach Junior College to its first state title is returning to campus for a reunion celebration.
PBSC will welcome back and recognize the eight-player team of Michael Bennett, William (Bill) Buchanan, Dirk Jamison, Shack Leonard, Jr., Paul Mercak, Michael Owens, Derrick Paul, Sammy Weathersbee and their coach Joe Ceravalo and assistant coach Willie Gibson at halftime during the men’s basketball game starting at 4 p.m. Jan. 26 in the gym on the Lake Worth campus. … Continue reading 1978 men’s championship basketball team to be honored
