Palm Beach State College held a grand opening ceremony Thursday for the new Veterans Success Center on the Lake Worth campus.
About 175 people attended the event, including student veterans, elected officials and business and community leaders. U.S. Reps. Lois Frankel and Brian Mast were the guest speakers.

Military veterans pursuing their education at Palm Beach State College will soon have a new place to connect, lounge, study and get academic support and other services to help them acclimate to school and civilian life.
The College is planning to renovate a former Criminal Justice building (CJA 207) on the Lake Worth campus and convert it into a Veterans’ Resource Center for veterans at all of the campuses. Florida’s Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater delivered the keynote address at the morning commencement ceremony for graduates of the Associate in Science, Associate in Applied Science, Bachelor of Applied Science and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree programs along with the certificate programs.
