Students registering for spring classes at Palm Beach State College can now choose Loxahatchee Groves from among their campus choices.
PBSC’s long anticipated fifth campus is set to officially open Feb. 27. Existing students can  register online now, choosing from 64 sections of general education courses that largely count toward the Associate in Arts transfer degree. New students can apply for admission online and get prepared to start in the spring. A crowd of more than 80 Palm Beach State College members and community leaders in the Glades gathered Tuesday to officially welcome Dr. Maria Vallejo to the Belle Glade campus during a reception and luncheon at the Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center.

PBSC gets $9 million from Legislature to complete new campus

Palm Beach State College leaders are celebrating the news that $9 million allocated by the Florida Legislature to complete the first phase of the fifth campus under construction in Loxahatchee Groves also has survived the governor’s veto pen.

Palm Beach State College has signed a memorandum of understanding with Modernizing Medicine to create an innovative training hub at the College’s new Loxahatchee Groves campus for students preparing for health information technology careers and medical professionals learning to use systems for digitizing and managing patient records.

Rogers to lead PBSC Loxahatchee Groves campus

Dr. Jacqueline Rogers, dean of health sciences and public safety at Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth, has been appointed to also oversee the launch of the College’s new campus under construction in Loxahatchee Groves.
As campus director, Rogers is providing operational oversight, leadership and vision for the College’s fifth campus, which has an initial focus on health sciences and technology.

Campus name to honor outgoing president

Palm Beach State College’s new campus in Loxahatchee Groves will be named after outgoing president Dennis P. Gallon.
The College’s District Board of Trustees recently passed a unanimous resolution naming the campus for Dr. Gallon in recognition of his outstanding service to the College and the community. Palm Beach State College held a groundbreaking ceremony today for its long-planned Loxahatchee Groves campus that will provide more convenient access to classes for residents in the county’s growing west central communities.

Palm Beach State College is holding a groundbreaking ceremony Nov. 7 for its fifth campus in Loxahatchee Groves.
The ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on a small, open plot on the 75-acre campus site at the northwest corner of Southern Boulevard and B Road in the rural town of about 3,000 residents. Because of limited access and parking, the event is by invitation, and guests are being shuttled to the site. Palm Beach State to get $6 million from state for campus in Loxahatchee Groves

Palm Beach State College will get $6 million from the Florida Legislature this year toward construction of the first building on its new campus in Loxahatchee Groves.
Gov. Rick Scott vetoed $68.9 million in the state’s 2014-2015 budget before signing the $77 billion spending plan into law today. However, he kept in the new budget funding for Palm Beach State’s fifth campus approved by legislators.
