Hopkins and Jones artwork featured in Biennial exhibition

Palm Beach State College professor Kristin Miller Hopkins and adjunct instructor Symantha Jones are two of 30 artists who were recently chosen to showcase their artwork in the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County’s Biennial 2021 exhibition.
Hopkins and Jones, who are each presenting in the juried exhibition for the first time, were selected from a pool of 150 Palm Beach County artists. Cosmetology graduate to compete in Syfy channel’s “Face Off”

Emily Serpico, a new graduate of Palm Beach State College’s Cosmetology program, will compete in Season 8 of “Face Off,” the Syfy cable network’s hit reality competition series that pits special effects makeup artists against each other in creative battle. The Wellington resident is the youngest contestant in the history of the show; “Face Off” Season 8 premieres Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 9 p.m. on Syfy.

Remembering a beloved educator, mentor, friend

Almost 200 students, faculty and staff members came together Feb. 5 for a candlelight vigil to honor the memory of Dacota Stewart-Dick, Palm Beach State College’s First-Year Experience manager. Stewart-Dick was killed Feb. 2 in her Parkland home.

Fine Arts Student Show to feature paintings of personal expressions Jan. 30 to March 31

Twenty-five students will each feature a painting of a personal expression during the 2014 Fine Arts Student Show Jan. 30 to March 31 at the art gallery at Palm Beach State College’s Lake Worth campus.
An opening reception will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Jan. 30. Both the reception and the exhibit are free and open to the public.
