Army veteran selected as new PBSC student trustee

John Smith, the director of communications for Duffy’s Management, Inc., has been named the new Palm Beach State College student trustee for the 2019-20 academic year.
Smith, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in project management, was chosen from 10 students who interviewed for the job.

PBSC expecting another enrollment hike

Palm Beach State College is expecting another enrollment hike for the 2017-2018 academic year, and College leaders say they are prepared for the growth.
The full-time equivalent (FTE) enrollment was up 2.8 percent for 2016-2017 compared to the previous year. That means that PBSC students, the majority of whom are part time, took far more classes. The student headcount also rose slightly to 49,303 students in 2016-2017, up from 47,893 in 2015-2016.

Smile: PBSC to install 550 more security cameras

Security is about to get even tighter at Palm Beach State College.
The District Board of Trustees voted earlier this month to award a bid to install 550 additional security cameras college-wide.
John Smith, security director, said the cameras, expected to cost approxmiately $2 million, will serve as a deterrent to crime. Installation is expected to begin this summer.
