Palm Beach State College has erased nearly $2.3 million in student debt for more than 3,100 students impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
The move helped students settle unpaid account balances incurred during the pandemic and get back on track this fall to continue their education.

James Duffie, a Palm Beach State College alumnus and the College’s longtime controller, has been appointed vice president of finance and administration.
Duffie will report directly to President Ava L. Parker, J.D., and serve on her executive cabinet. He replaces Robbi Stivers, who served in a similar role for more than a year.

Palm Beach State College’s payroll team has won a national Prism Award for implementing new and streamlined processes that collectively saved the College over a half-million dollars.
Laurel Serra, payroll director, accepted the award from the American Payroll Association during the organization’s Payroll Leaders Conference held Nov. 7-9 in Las Vegas.
