PBSC students present at national NSF conference

Two students in PBSC’s Electrical Power Technology A.S. degree program presented on a national stage this week.
Alexander Burgess and Joseph Morel were among a select group of community college students chosen to attend the National Science Foundation’s Advanced Technological Education Principal Investigator Conference Oct. 23-25 in Washington, D.C., sponsored by the American Association of Community Colleges.

PBSC hosts undergraduate life sciences symposium

More than 200 life science undergraduate students and faculty descended upon Palm Beach State College’s Palm Beach Gardens campus on Saturday, April 1, for the fifth annual Life Sciences South Florida STEM Undergraduate Research Symposium.
At this largest symposium to date, attendees heard guest speakers, visited with exhibiting companies and schools, and participated in a research competition. Robotics competition brings more than 180 middle schoolers to PBSC

After preparing for weeks in afterschool programs across the Palm Beach County School District, 23 student teams came together Saturday to pit their robots against one another in exciting head-to-head competition.

Palm Beach State awarded National Science Foundation grant to boost work-readiness for STEM fields

The demand for skilled technicians in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields has reached a critical level nationwide and in South Florida. With an $868,105 grant from the National Science Foundation, Palm Beach State College plans to do something about it.
