Black History Month events include discussion on African Americans’ contributions to the military

Five veterans, including one who was trained by Charles Alfred Anderson, Sr., the chief flight instructor for the Tuskegee Airmen, will share their unique stories and highlight other African American contributions to the military during a panel discussion set for Feb. 24 as part of Palm Beach State College’s Black History Month celebration.

PBSC strengthens diversity in STEM with $800,000 FPL grant

Palm Beach State College was awarded $800,000 from Florida Power & Light Company to bolster diversity in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics). The grant will be given in $200,000 annual installments over the next four years as part of the FPL STEM Diversity Recruitment and Retention Fund, to further support PBSC’s ongoing efforts to provide educational equity while ultimately increasing workforce diversity in the local community.
