Celebration explores history and current events

The 10th Annual Spanish Language Celebration will be held on March 20 at Palm Beach State College’s Palm Beach Gardens campus.
The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. in room SC 127 in the BioScience Technology Complex. Themed “The American Dream,” it is free and open to the public. It  includes a presentation titled  “The Political Crisis in Venezuela: Is a Regime Change Possible?” from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. by Dr. Luis Fleischman, PBSC professor of sociology and author of “Latin America in the Post-Chávez Era.” Fleischman also served as a foreign policy advisor to Mitt Romney during his 2012 presidential campaign. … Continue reading Celebration explores history and current events

Students to lead first discussion at Spanish celebration

Holocaust refugees who fled to Latin America will be among the topics discussed at the 9th Annual Spanish Language Celebration at Palm Beach State College’s Palm Beach Gardens campus March 21.
The celebration takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. in the BioScience Technology Complex, Room SC 127. The events, which are free and open to the public, include two panel discussions, a film presentation and more.

Spanish Language Celebration explores history, present-day topics

The Sixth Annual Spanish Language Celebration will be held over three days at Palm Beach State College this month with events set for the Palm Beach Gardens and Boca Raton campuses.
Themed “The Paradox of Language and Culture: Persistence and Evolution” a daylong celebration will be held at the Boca Raton campus March 19, followed by a two-day celebration at the Palm Beach Gardens campus March 24-25.
