The national search for Palm Beach State College’s nursing director has ended internally with the appointment of Dr. Deborah Copeland, a longtime professor with experience working in clinical roles as a practitioner and administrator.
Copeland, who has been serving as interim nursing director since January, will move into the role permanently on Oct. 1. She replaces Buddy Herrington, who retired last year.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Palm Beach State College has earned accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.
ACEN accreditation signifies that a nursing program has met the highest national standards. ACEN is recognized as the accrediting body for all types of nursing education by the U.S. Department of Education, the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and several other organizations and governmental entities.
