PBSC receives generous gift to expand its simulation center

Palm Beach State College has received a generous grant from The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation to expand its Center of Excellence in Medical Simulation.
The expanded center will elevate teaching and learning for the College’s nursing and health science students and feature a proposed 14,202-square-foot facility, comprised of PBSC’s existing simulation labs and nearby classrooms on the second floor of the Education and Training Administration building on the Lake Worth campus.

PBSC medical simulation center wins best practice award

The Center of Excellence in Medical Simulation at Palm Beach State College has been chosen by the Florida College System as a 2016 recipient of the Chancellor’s Best Practice Award.

The honor will be presented this week at the Association of Florida Colleges 67th Annual Meeting and Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Palm Beach State awarded Florida Blue Foundation grant

Through the use of human simulation technology, health care students can practice clinical skills without putting real patients in jeopardy. The technology promotes safer, better patient care when it counts, and has been used by Palm Beach State College for more than 10 years.
Now the Florida Blue Foundation has awarded Palm Beach State a $55,000 grant to enhance the use of simulation technology in its health sciences programs.
