Russell to retire at end of fall term

Dr. Bernadette Russell, Palm Beach State College’s vice president of e-Learning and Instructional Technology and Boca Raton campus provost, is retiring Dec. 18, capping a 30-year career in higher education.
She has led the campus for 13 years, and she assumed leadership for e-learning collegewide five years ago. A national search is underway for her replacement, who will lead the campus as provost and dean of Student Services.

Barbatis selected a PTK Distinguished Administrator

Dr. Peter Barbatis, Palm Beach State College vice president of student services and enrollment management, has received a 2017 Distinguished Administrator Award from Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society for his support of the organization as well as initiatives to help students succeed.

PBSC Boca Raton campus to host Women Entrepreneurs Summit April 29

Florida State Sen. Maria Sachs, Rep. Lori Berman and Palm Beach County Commissioner Priscilla Taylor will be the speakers at the 5th Annual Women Entrepreneurs Network Summit at Palm Beach State College in Boca Raton.
The event, coordinated by the campus’ Corporate and Continuing Education department, will be held 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 29 in the Humanities and Technology Building, 801 Palm Beach State College Drive.
