PBSC athletes finish year with 3.1 cumulative GPA; Beach Volleyball named NJCAA Academic Team of the Year

The Palm Beach State College athletic teams finished the 2022-23 academic year with a 3.107 cumulative GPA, with Beach Volleyball being named the NJCAA Academic Team of the Year in addition to their NJCAA National Championship win earlier in the year.  The beach volleyball players had a 3.68 cumulative GPA with all 12 members of the team finishing with over a 3.0 GPA.

PBSC Women’s Beach Volleyball graduates give insight on their historic NJCAA national championship win

Nine graduating sophomores on the Palm Beach State College women’s beach volleyball team leave PBSC with one of the best memories of their college experience: being crowned the National Junior College Athletic Association’s National Champions.
It was the first time since 1996 that any PBSC sports team had won a national championship. Palm Beach State College Women’s Beach Volleyball wins NJCAA championship

The Palm Beach State College Beach Volleyball team made history as the winners of the inaugural NJCAA Beach Volleyball National Championship held April 20-22 at Hickory Point Beach in Tavares, Fla.
The competition featured 12 of the association’s top teams.  The Panthers beat all six opponents 3-0, never losing a set the whole tournament.

Scarpino named PBSC athletics director

John Scarpino has been named Palm Beach State College’s new athletics director. The announcement comes as the program transitions this fall from Division I to Division II in the National Junior College Athletic Association.
