Scholarship honors alumna who died after earning degree

An endowed scholarship has been established to honor the memory and wishes of Palm Beach State College alumna Sharene Smith who lost her battle with cancer April 23, four months after achieving her lifelong dream of a bachelor’s degree.
Family, co-workers and friends of the 65-year-old Boca Raton woman pooled their money to donate $25,000 to the PBSC Foundation for the Sharene Savage Smith Endowed Memorial Scholarship for Older Students. Business bachelor’s degree programs earn accreditation

The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs has awarded Palm Beach State College accreditation of its bachelor’s level Supervision and Management programs.
PBSC’s Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Supervision and Management, offered on the Lake Worth campus as well as online, encompasses four concentrations, all of which meet the educational standards required for ACBSP accreditation. The concentrations are General Management, Entrepreneurship, Health Management and Project Management.

Manuele reappointed to library advisory board

Salvatore C. Manuele, an adjunct instructor for Palm Beach State College’s Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Supervision and Management, has been reappointed to serve a three-year term on the Palm Beach County Library Advisory Board.
The volunteer 15-member board is appointed by the Palm Beach County Board of Commissioners.
