Parker elected to serve on AACC board

Palm Beach State College President Ava L. Parker, J.D., has been elected by her peers from around the nation to serve on the board of directors of the American Association of Community Colleges.
She is among eight newly-elected board members who will serve three-year terms beginning July 1. Six institutional members and two affiliated council members, all current community college chief executive officers, were elected to join the 32-member board. PBSC wins six regional NCMPR awards for communications

Palm Beach State College has won six Medallion Awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations District II, including three first-place awards, for work produced by the College Relations and Marketing department.
The annual regional awards recognize outstanding achievement in communications at community and technical colleges in 11 Southeastern states, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands and the Bahamas. This year, there were more than 350 submissions in 38 categories.

Haney earns AAWCC 40 Under 40 Award for local work

Palm Beach State College Associate Professor Kanathy Haney has landed a spot in the second “40 Under 40” class of the American Association for Women in Community Colleges for her efforts to raise awareness of human trafficking and to help victims.

Grainger scholarship winners get tools for success

Mitchell Ramos and Ruben Cabrera will be starting their automotive careers with a distinct advantage. Yesterday these new graduates of Palm Beach State College’s Automotive Service Technology program received professional toolkits as part of the Grainger Tools for Tomorrow® scholarships they won in December.
