TSA to honor graduates of Palm Beach State’s Homeland Security program

Fifteen employees of the Transportation Security Administration based at Palm Beach International Airport will be honored on June 12 for completing a college credit certificate program in Homeland Security offered by Palm Beach State College. The Achievement Ceremony will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the West Palm Beach Marriott, 1001 Okeechobee Blvd.

Palm Beach State to get $6 million from state for campus in Loxahatchee Groves

Palm Beach State College will get $6 million from the Florida Legislature this year toward construction of the first building on its new campus in Loxahatchee Groves.
Gov. Rick Scott vetoed $68.9 million in the state’s 2014-2015 budget before signing the $77 billion spending plan into law today. However, he kept in the new budget funding for Palm Beach State’s fifth campus approved by legislators.

Thirty golf foursomes gathered on May 9 at The Country Club at Mirasol in Palm Beach Gardens for The Palm Beach State College Foundation’s annual Golf Classic.

Palm Beach State stiffens financial aid policies

Palm Beach State College is implementing stricter financial aid policies that will drastically change the way it doles out federal funds and make students more accountable for the dollars they receive.
Beginning in the fall, federal financial aid funds will not be disbursed to students until 30 days after the start of the term. Student loans will be divided into two disbursements — half at the 30- day point and the remainder at mid-semester.
