Forbes honored as the top coach in Palm Beach County

It was a historic 2013 for Palm Beach State College baseball. With the leadership of head coach Kyle Forbes, the team won its first FCSAA state title since 1984 and made its first ever appearance in the NJCAA JUCO World Series.
For these efforts, Forbes was named Coach of the Year by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission. Balfour Beatty Construction golf benefit raises more than $33,000 for student scholarships

Balfour Beatty Construction, the fifth largest general builder in the nation and one of Florida’s largest construction managers, raised $33,500 at their 20th annual golf benefit held March 10 at the Grand Oaks Golf Club in Davie, Fla. The funds were given the next day to the Palm Beach State College Foundation to be distributed for student scholarships.

Build what? It is the Earth Harp, a large musical instrument that spans across a great distance. Today, the Earth Harp is spanning 150 feet from the sidewalk to the roof of the Duncan Theatre on the Lake Worth campus of Palm Beach State College.

Florida TEAm grant to accelerate pipeline for computer science, engineering students

The Florida Board of Governors has awarded Florida Atlantic University, Broward College and Palm Beach State College a $3.5-million state grant to create an accelerated pipeline for students in computer science and computer engineering.
The FAU/BC/PBSC partnership was developed in response to the  Board of Governors’ Targeted Educational Attainment (TEAm) grant program, part of an ambitious effort to align university and college degrees with the state’s future workforce needs. Art at the Airport exhibit features work of three PBSC professors

Travelers and visitors at the Palm Beach International Airport can see the artwork of three Palm Beach State College faculty members.
The artwork of Professors Sherry Stephens, Wayne Stephens and Kristin Miller Hopkins were selected for the current “Art at the Airport” exhibit sponsored by Palm Beach County’s Art in Public Places program. The exhibit began Feb. 26 and runs through June 25 on Level 2 of the main airport terminal, across from Travelers Lounge.
