New exhibit encourages recycling

A new exhibit created to remind people of the importance of recycling is coming to The Art Gallery at Eissey Campus.
Titled “Waste Not,” the exhibit features artwork that was repurposed from discarded materials from Aidana Baldassarre, Randy Burman, Stephen Futej, Isabel Gouveia, Sibel Kocabasi, Allison Kotzig and Lucinda Linderman. An opening reception will be held from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 31.

Grammy-winning artist headlines fall music series

Palm Beach State College’s Music Department will host two-time Grammy award winner and jazz trumpeter Roy Hargrove during a Tuesday Nite Big Band concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Duncan Theatre. The Big Band will also perform with the PBSC jazz combos at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Eissey Campus Theatre.

Students to perform Shakespeare play

Palm Beach State College students will put their acting skills to the test in the Theatre Department’s first production of a William Shakespeare play in six years.
More than 20 PBSC students, one of the largest casts in recent years, will perform “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at 8 p.m. Oct. 18, 19, 20 and at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Oct 21 in the Duncan Theatre.

A new exhibit featuring artwork created from earthly materials is on display at The Art Gallery at Eissey Campus.

Campus theaters land two grants to expand programming

Palm Beach State College has received two grants totaling more than $183,000 to expand programming and boost marketing for its three campus theaters.
The grants include $136,425 from the Palm Beach County Cultural Council and $46,184 from the Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs.

Woolfe showcases her photography on campus

Photographs by retired Palm Beach State College employee Teresa Woolfe are being presented in an exhibit that runs now through May 29 at the art gallery on the Lake Worth campus.  An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. May 18.

The Art Gallery at Eissey Campus will host the National Association of Women Artists (NAWA) Florida Chapter’s annual art exhibit beginning May 16.
The exhibit, titled “Envisioning New Pathways,” is a multimedia show that will include sculptures, paintings, photography, ceramics and mixed media. An opening reception will be held at 5 p.m. May 16 in the gallery. The exhibit will run through Sept. 1.

Exhibit to feature student artwork

Seventy-five Palm Beach State College art students will showcase their work in the 31st Annual Student Art Exhibition beginning April 4.
The exhibition runs through May 5 and is a showcase of the best artwork created by students from the Palm Beach Gardens campus. The opening reception will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. April 4. Both the reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.

A new exhibit featuring the artwork of four local women artists opens today at the art gallery at Palm Beach State College’s Lake Worth campus.

Visually creative installations to be shown in new exhibit

A house made out of undergarments and a human figure sculpture dressed in a shroud for the dead. These are two pieces among many that will be on display in a new art exhibit opening Feb. 14 at The Art Gallery at Eissey Campus.
