Palm Beach State College mourns the loss of Yvonne S. Boice, a beloved member of the Foundation for Palm Beach State College Board of Directors, whose light will continue to shine brightly at PBSC and throughout our communities. Yvonne passed away on Friday, January 13 at her home in Boca Raton. She was a Foundation Board Member since 2004.

“Yvonne was a tremendous individual and philanthropist who prioritized education and the students of Palm Beach State College,” said Ava L. Parker, J.D., President, PBSC. “She was a pioneer in advancing women and arts in our STEM programs, which led to the launch the College’s successful STEAM initiative. We will be forever grateful for Yvonne’s generosity and influence on the lives of our students,” Parker said.

“Yvonne blessed PBSC with her gifts and beautiful soul. The spirit, energy and love Yvonne shared with the community will endure for generations,” said David A. Rutherford, Vice President, Institutional Advancement and CEO, The Foundation for Palm Beach State College.

Yvonne will be fondly remembered for her service, dedication to the arts, commitment to women’s initiatives, the Palm Beach State College STEAM Gala, and so much more. With a passion for international travel – she visited more than 160 countries – Yvonne believed that travel brings empathy, and she lived that belief by giving of herself to others in countless ways.

Yvonne’s legacy will be defined by the remarkable woman she was and will continue to inspire us and impact our college and community for generations. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Yvonne’s family and friends and the countless people and organizations she served at home and around the world.

A celebration of Yvonne’s life will be held at Glick Funeral Home in Boca Raton on Friday, January 20, 2023, from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m., with a special prayer service at 7 p.m.
