PBSC client support service employees win national award

Four members of Palm Beach State College’s Client Support Services Department (formerly Media Technology and Instructional Services) received the Best Promotional Video award in the 2017 Consortium of College and University Media Centers national video contest.
Their winning entry (see below) was a three-minute, 10-second video covering the College’s Math and Science Institute.
The video was created by Dustan Drebing and Julie Somera, who work on the Palm Beach Gardens campus; Karina Silva-Santisteban on the Lake Worth campus; and former PBSC employee Richard Christian. Silva-Santisteban, who previously worked on the Palm Beach Gardens campus, developed the creative concept for the piece.
The award was announced last month during CCUMC’s national conference in Notre Dame, Ind.
Last year, the entire client support services staff from the Palm Beach Gardens campus won two honors in the CCUMC national video contest. They received first-place awards for their “Library Tour” in the Best Training Video category and “Student Learning Center” in the Best Promotional Video category.
CCUMC supports college and university media staff in the effective creation, use and management of media content and instructional technology in higher education. Palm Beach State is one of about 780 CCUMC members, which also include corporations and other organizations involved in higher education.
