Dentists and students make a difference in a day
Many adults in our community can’t afford basic dental treatment, so for the third year in a row, local volunteer dentists teamed up with Palm Beach State College Dental Health students to do something about it.
Dentists affiliated with Atlantic Coast Dental Research Clinic, assisted by PBSC Dental Health students, treated 42 adults at Free Dentistry Day held today at the dental clinic on the Lake Worth campus.
The focus of the first-come, first-served event was to get people out of pain. As a result, the 12 volunteer dentists, aided by PBSC Dental Assisting students, performed a total of 49 composite fillings and 16 extractions. Five patients could not be treated and were referred to appropriate care providers. PBSC’s Dental Hygiene students also assisted by doing the initial patient intake.
Not bad for a day’s work. View the photo album of the Free Dentistry Day team in action.
Great job for the community!
I would love ❤️ to know when they’re having another free event. Please cause I need it .
