The Palm Beach State College Foundation will host its annual Golf Classic at the Wanderers Club in Wellington on Friday, April 21. Registrations to play have sold out but sponsorships opportunities are still available.

The tournament is themed “Drive for Student Success” and is one of the Foundation’s premier corporate fundraising events. Proceeds will support the Foundation’s STEAM initiative to help meet the growing need for local, skilled professionals in science, technology, engineering, arts and math.

“Fastrack MCI is excited to partner with Palm Beach State College at this event as it will no doubt help many students achieve their goals at the College,” said John Lesh, Fastrack project executive. “It’s important to our company to give back to the community, especially when it benefits education. STEAM subjects encompass everything in life and help students be curious, ask questions, and make connections as to why the world exists as it does. It is the backdrop for understanding our world and helps us to explain and appreciate it in new ways.”

The Classic will be a best-ball format, featuring contests during tournament play, including hole-in-one competitions sponsored by Al Packer Ford. Prizes also will be awarded for the longest drive, straightest drive and closest to the pin.

The tournament’s shotgun start is at 12:30 p.m., and the awards reception begins at 5:30 p.m. or immediately after play.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available for tournament contests, tee signs and winning scholars, which support PBSC students for either one semester or one year.

A raffle and online auction also will be held as part of the fundraising efforts. Prizes for the raffle are a LG 65’ 4K Ultra HD Smart TV, a Dell Latitude 12 laptop and a Orlando Adventure Pack which includes four Disney park hopper tickets and two tickets to a medieval times dinner show. Tickets for the raffle are $20 each or seven for $100. The raffle is open to the community, and participants need not be present to win.
