PBSC supporters to be honored as outstanding leaders

Two women who are leading supporters of Palm Beach State College will be honored next month for their accomplishments, generosity of spirit, commitment to integrity and diversity, and genuine connectedness with others in the community.
Wendy Sartory Link, chair of the PBSC District Board of Trustees, and Yvonne Boice, chair of the PBSC Foundation STEAM committee, will receive awards at the Executive Women of the Palm Beaches 33rd annual Women in Leadership Award event from noon to 2 p.m. May 5 in the Cohen Pavilion at the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.
Link will receive the Private Sector Award and Boice the Volunteer Sector Award. Susan Packard, co-founder of Scripps Networks Interactive and former COO of HGTV, is the keynote speaker.
Link and Boice, along with two other honorees, were selected from among 34 nominated for this year’s awards.
Link is the founding partner of Ackerman, Link & Sartory law firm, and concentrates her practice in commercial real estate and asset-based financing and general corporate matters. The firm, will has received The Gender Friendly Recognition Award from The Florida Bar, will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year.
She also serves as chair of the board of directors for the Florida Healthy Kids Corporation and is a member of the Board of Governors State University System of Florida, among others.
A South Florida businesswoman and philanthropist, Boice recently announced that the Boice Family Foundation would give $150,000 toward student scholarships to support PBSC Foundation’s multi-year initiative to impact the projected shortage of local, skilled professionals in the STEAM fields.
Currently, she serves as chair emeritus of the Palm Beach International Film Festival, having served as chair of the festival for 10 years.
Boice has also devoted her time to numerous other important causes, including women’s issues both here and abroad. In addition, she is currently serving as a board member of the Trust of the National Endowment of the Humanities.
