“College is Possible” set for April 16 at PBSC Boca Raton campus

CollegeIsPossible-315Palm Beach State College is hosting a free seminar April 16 for high school seniors who still need help getting on the path to college and juniors who want to get a head start on their higher education planning.

“College is Possible” will be held in the Humanities and Technology building, room 103, at the Boca Raton campus located at 801 Palm Beach State College Drive. Check in, tours and a free continental breakfast will be held from 9 to 10 a.m.  The panels and program highlights will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The session is open to all participants and their parents. PBSC staff will be on hand to answer questions about College programs, financial aid and admissions.

The event, being held in collaboration with the School District of Palm Beach County, also will feature a special workshop to help high school seniors and their parents navigate the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The “Complete your FAFSA” session will be held from noon until 1 p.m. With proper financial documents, students can apply onsite for financial aid, which includes scholarships, federal Pell grant and work study.  Students also can apply onsite for admission to PBSC. Certain documents are required including an unofficial transcript and SAT, ACT and/or PERT scores.
