Leadership expert to speak at PBSC as part of Black History Month events
Joshua Fredenburg, a nationally recognized speaker, author and leadership consultant, will speak at the Palm Beach State College Lake Worth campus Thursday as part of Black History Month.
The talk, sponsored by Student Activities, will begin at noon in Conference Room E and F on the Lake Worth campus. It is free and open to PBSC students, faculty and staff.
Fredenburg will present five leadership lessons that will teach attendees about African American leaders. His own journey as a leadership development expert began in 2010 when he created the Circle of Change Leadership Conference, an award winning leadership development conference for college students. The conference provides emerging and seasoned leaders with opportunities to learn from more than 70 executives each year from various companies and organizations.
He is the author of several books, including “50 Questions Before You Say I Do,” which is a relationship book that is geared toward helping people create healthy relationships that are built to last a lifetime; “A Call to Action: 14 Highly Effective Leadership Principles for Leaders of Millennials” and “Are You the World’s Next Top Leader? 40 Questions Every Leader Should Consider Before You Begin To Lead in the 21st Century.”
The talk is among several events being held in celebration of Black History Month. Other upcoming events include:

Janet Devries, a librarian at the Lake Worth campus, will discuss how Julius Rosenwald, president of Sears, Roebuck & Co., and his philanthropic gifts of schoolhouses in the rural south, including 11 in Palm Beach County between 1925 and 1932, improved education for black students. Exhibit will be available throughout the month. - Feb. 24 – 1 to 3 p.m. – Palm Beach Gardens campus Student Lounge
Free viewing of “42: The Jackie Robinson Story.” This event is sponsored by Student Activities and open to all current PBSC students, faculty and staff. - Feb. 29 – 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. – Belle Glade campus CRB Patio
African drummers and dancers will perform.
