New program prepares students for financial planning certification exam
Palm Beach State College has partnered with Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. (CFP Board) to provide a new financial planning certification preparation program beginning in March 2016 on the Boca Raton campus.
Individuals who successfully complete the 10-month program will fulfill the CFP Board 270 contact hour minimum education requirement and become eligible to sit for the Certified Financial Planner® Certification Exam administered by CFP Board. For the complete schedule, click here.
“CFP Board is pleased to approve the program at Palm Beach State College as a CFP Board Registered Program,” said Richard P. Rojeck, CFP®, chair of CFP Board’s Board of Directors. “As student interest in financial planning as a career continues to grow, we anticipate that PBSC’s program will contribute significantly to the number of qualified candidates seeking to attain the CFP® certification, the standard of excellence for competent and ethical financial planning.”
Individuals who complete the program will receive an award of completion from PBSC. They must then pass the CFP Board exam to receive the CFP® credential.
The program is part of Palm Beach State’s Corporate and Continuing Education division, which provides training opportunities in a variety of professional leadership topics. CCE offers individual courses, customized employee training and professional certification exam preparation, among others.
