PBSC hosts events to celebrate Women’s History Month

Palm Beach State College is holding a series of events across the College to celebrate Women’s History Month.

The events started March 2 with the opening of the “First Ladies of the United States” exhibit at the library (second floor gallery) on the Lake Worth campus. The exhibit runs throughout the month.

Among the events are:

  • March 18—11 a.m. to 1 p.m. MLK Plaza, Lake Worth campus. Join the Office of Student Activities in celebrating the contributions of women to history and contemporary society. Learn more about influential women in government, business, religion, sports, the arts and more.
  • March 18—3:30 p.m. SC 201, Palm Beach Gardens campus, workshop titled “Women to Women.” The event will be a discussion around the book “Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead” by Sheryl Sandberg, chief operating officer of Facebook. Participants will also view Sandberg’s TED talks and learn 10 tips for graduates.
  • March 23—12:30 p.m. TEC 109, Belle Glade campus activity titled “Who Am I?” Student will play the roles of famous women throughout history and other students will guess who they are portraying.
  • March 31—9:30 a.m. Seminar titled “Women in Computer Science” – This event is part of Math Awareness Week to be held March 30 – April 1.
