Panel discussion at PBSC Feb. 25 to address inequities in justice system
The Palm Beach State College Palm Beach Gardens campus is hosting a panel discussion with legal and criminal justice experts and faculty Feb. 25 to address inequities within the U.S. justice system and to identify possible solutions.
The panelists are: Palm Beach County Chief Circuit Court Judge Jeffrey Colbath; Dr. Paul Friedman, PBSC professor and criminal justice department chair; Dr. Gina D. Carreno-Lukasik, instructor of sociology at Florida Atlantic University; civil rights attorney Hugh L. Koerner of Broward County, and retired West Palm Beach police chief Delsa Bush.
The discussion titled “And Justice for All” will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Meldon Hall, 3160 PGA Blvd. It is free and open to the public.
The event is part of a “Hot Topics” series launched at the Palm Beach Gardens campus to start a dialogue about important social issues, said Dr. Edward Cascio, a psychology professor who serves on the campus Hot Topics committee of faculty, staff and students. The first panel discussion held in the fall addressed domestic violence.
