Boren to speak at Women’s Empowerment Forum
Minx Boren, former president of the Executive Women of the Palm Beaches and a certified personal and business coach for more than 15 years, will be the featured speaker at the Palm Beach State College Women’s Empowerment Forum.
The event will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Oct. 7 in the BioScience Technology Complex, Room SC 127 at the Palm Beach Gardens campus, 3160 PGA Blvd. It is free and open to the public, but reservations are encouraged and can be made online at www.palmbeachstate.edu/CCE/PBG/default.aspx or by calling 561-207-5708. Attendees may bring their lunch; coffee will be provided. The event is sponsored by HERLIFE Magazine and Oceana Coffee. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
Boren received her Master Certified Coach (MCC) credential through the International Coach Federation. Trained in such cutting edge technologies as Appreciative Inquiry, Emotional Intelligence, the Art of Convening, and Positive Psychology – the science of happiness, Boren has worked with hundreds of clients and facilitated group conversations, encouraging women and men to acknowledge their gifts and talents, identify and take a stand for their highest values, and choose to live fulfilling lives.
Boren is a columnist for several magazines and the author of five books of poetry, including “Healing is a Journey,” which was recently published by Blue Mountain Arts. She also is co-author of four books for women. With more than 30 years of training in health and nutrition, she also is a “health wise coach” for the Clean and Lean Revolution, a website dedicated to supporting all aspects of wellness.
She recently served as president of Executive Women of the Palm Beaches, and she is a board member of the Women’s Foundation of Palm Beach County and a member of the Advisory Council of the Arthur R. Marshall Foundation.
The Women’s Empowerment Forum is presented by the Corporate and Continuing Education division, which provides training opportunities in a variety of professional leadership topics. It offers individual courses, customized employee training, professional certification exam prep and special offerings like the Leaders Empowering Action Program designed to help managers become leaders.
