A check for tech: TEAm grant creates pathways to computer science careers
The Florida Board of Governors, along with Florida Atlantic University, Palm Beach State College and Broward College, celebrated the rollout on Aug. 13 of the BOG’s Targeted Educational Attainment (TEAm) grant program—an ambitious effort to align university and college degrees with the state’s future workforce needs. FAU, PBSC and BC won the competitive $3.5 million grant, called the Computer Accelerated Pipeline to Unlock Regional Excellence (CAPTURE), through an innovative three-way partnership to increase the number of graduates in the high-wage, high-demand fields of computer science and computer engineering. Students will begin entering the program this fall.
