Palm Beach State to host free “College is Possible” seminar April 5

Palm Beach State College is hosting a free seminar April 5 for high school seniors who still need help getting on the path to college and juniors who want to get a head start on their higher education planning.

“College is Possible,” a college planning day for high school juniors and seniors and their parents, will be held from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Duncan Theatre on the Lake Worth campus. A free continental breakfast will be provided.

The event, co-sponsored by the School District of Palm Beach County and ASPIRA of Florida, also will include breakout sessions on Transitioning to College, College Admissions, Choosing the Right College Program and Steps for Success. In addition, a special session strictly for high school seniors will allow students to apply for financial aid and for admission to PBSC before they leave.

Workshops for parents, which will include tips on how to pay for college and how to prepare their children for transition to college, will be provided in English, Spanish and Creole. The “College is Possible” event is free and open to the public, but participants must pre-register at www.palmbeachstate.edu/recruitment/College-Possible.aspx.
