Barb Matias, executive director of human resources at Palm Beach State College, has been recognized for her work by South Florida Business and Wealth magazine and will be featured in the publication’s April edition.
Matias was presented the magazine’s Excellence in Human Resource Award in the education category, one of 13 industries represented for the second annual awards. Barb Matias, Palm Beach State College executive director of human resources, is among 22 community college administrators from around the country who recently completed the National Community College Hispanic Council’s 2016 Leadership Fellows Program.

Barb Matias has been named the new executive director of human resources for Palm Beach State College.
Matias, who has served as the interim executive director since last August, was selected after a national search that drew 118 applicants. She replaces Dr. Ellen Grace who recently retired.
Matias of Wellington began working at the College in 2003 as a human resources generalist.
