Yolanda Griffith to enter elite ranks of basketball immortality

Former Palm Beach State College basketball powerhouse and Olympic gold medalist Yolanda Griffith will be honored as one of the greatest in the sport as she takes the stage on June 14 to be inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Tenn.

Astrophysicist Dr. Randall Smith to speak at PBSC STEAM event May 22

The Palm Beach State College Foundation will host Dr. Randall Smith from the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory at Harvard University in a presentation titled “The Science Behind Science Fiction” at 5:30 p.m. May 22 at the Duncan Theatre on the Lake Worth campus. PBSC Foundation golf tournament raises $101,000 at annual Golf Classic

Thirty golf foursomes gathered on May 9 at The Country Club at Mirasol in Palm Beach Gardens for The Palm Beach State College Foundation’s annual Golf Classic.

Palm Beach State stiffens financial aid policies

Palm Beach State College is implementing stricter financial aid policies that will drastically change the way it doles out federal funds and make students more accountable for the dollars they receive.
Beginning in the fall, federal financial aid funds will not be disbursed to students until 30 days after the start of the term. Student loans will be divided into two disbursements — half at the 30- day point and the remainder at mid-semester. College praises legislation benefiting immigrant students

On the final day of the 2014 legislative session, Florida’s lawmakers have passed HB 851, providing a waiver of out-of-state tuition fees for public higher education for students who are undocumented for federal immigration purposes.
The bill, which Gov.
