Former national radio personality to address Women’s Empowerment Forum at PBSC
Author and national radio personality Blanche Williams will be the speaker during the fourth Palm Beach State College Women’s Empowerment Forum from noon to 1 p.m. August 12. The event is free and open to the public.
Williams will share some of her past experiences, including working with the Clinton administration, hosting a national XM satellite radio talk show, and covering the nomination and inauguration of President Barack Obama. She was also invited to the White House because of her work as founder of the National Black Women’s Town Hall, Inc.
The talk will be given in the BioScience Technology Complex, room SC127, on the Palm Beach Gardens campus, 3160 PGA Blvd. Reservations are encouraged and can be made online at www.palmbeachstate.edu/CCE/Leadership or by calling 561-207-5708. Attendees may bring their lunch; coffee will be provided. The event is sponsored by HERLIFE Magazine and Oceana Coffee. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
William’s mantra for life and business is “Success is by choice, not by chance.” She is president of Greatness by Design, a consulting firm focusing on learning, leadership and team development in Wellington and holds a master’s degree in leadership from Nova Southeastern University and a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from the University of Maryland.
The next guest speaker will be Minx Boren, president of the Executive Women of the Palm Beaches, on Oct. 7. All talks will take place at the same time and location.
The Women’s Empowerment Forum is presented by the College’s Corporate and Continuing Education division, which provides training opportunities in a variety of professional leadership topics. It offers individual courses, customized employee training, professional certification exam prep and special offerings like the Leaders Empowering Action Program designed to help managers become leaders.
